Capitola Begonia Festival
Annual Labor Day Weekend festival celebrating the begonia Flower.
The Capitola Begonia Festival has been held for more then 60 years.
The main event at the festival is a nautical parade
of begonia decorated floats floating down Soquel Creek.
Other events and activities typically include
a sand sculpture contest, fishing derby,
row boat races, horshoe tournament, and visitors
decorating themselves with begonias.
Capitola Art and Wine Festival
Annual festival held in Capitola for more then 30 years.
Features the works of local artists, Santa Cruz area wineries,
live entertainment, foods, and children's activities.
Wharf to Wharf Foot Race
Annual running event with a course that begins
near the Santa Cruz Wharf and ends near the Capitola Wharf.
A highlight of the race is the large number of bands,
singers, dancers, drummers, clowns, and other performers
lining the route.
Mermaid Triathlon and Duathlon
One of the events in the Mermaid Triathlon and
Duathlon Series Includes the Mighty Mermaid Olympic
Triathlon, a sprint triathlon, and a sprint duathlon.
Capitola Rod and Custom Classic Car Show
Annual exhibition displaying more then 300 hot rods, muscle cars,
coupes, roadsters, custom cars and classics from 1972 and earlier.
Features vendor booths, live music, a silent auction, raffle,
and other activities.
Capitola Kite Classic
Annual kite flying contest for all ages and
kite flyers with all levels of skill.
Both competitors and spectators are welcome.
Bikes on the Bay
Motocycle and motor scooter showcase and swapmeet featuring
American, British, European, and Japanese motor bikes.
Also features live entertainment, demonstrations
foods, and the Scotts Valley Police Precision Riding Team.
