Actress Natalie Wood drowned in the waters off Two Harbors Village under questionable circumstances over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 1981. She was vacationing with her husband and actor Christopher Walken on the couple's motor yacht "Splender".

1985

- Visitor Center opened at Cresdent and Catalina Avenues

1986
First "Tugs Tours and Tempers Golf Tournament" (35 players)

1988
Hermit's Gulch Campground opened

1989
