Superbowl Sunday is usually observed on the first Sunday in February. It is the day on which the National Football League (NFL) plays their annual gridiron (American Football) championship game. The first NFL championship game was played on January 15, 1967 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The event has been held an anually for more than 50 years.
