Day Use Monterey County Parks

Jacks Peak County Park
Forest park featuring about 8 miles of horseback riding and hiking trails, including the self-guided Skyline Nature Trail. Located at 25020 Jacks Peak Park Road in Monterey.

Royal Oaks County Park
122 acre day-use county park established in 1966. Facilities include a softball field, playground equipment, basketball, volley-ball and tennis courts, and several miles of hiking trails. Located in north Monterey County at 537 Maher Road in Watsonville.

Toro County Park
4,756 acre day-use county park that first opened in 1971. Facilities include an equestrian staging area and riding trails, two softball fields, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, mountain biking, volleyball courts, and over 20 miles of hiking trials. Located about six miles from Salinas and about 13 miles from the Monterey Peninsula. The park entrance is located at 501 Marina-Salinas Highway 68 in Salinas.

Campground Monterey County Parks

Laguna Seca County Recreation Area
Features the Laguna Seca Raceway, the Skip Barber Racing School, and the Laguna Seca Rifle and Pistol Shooting Range. The park's camping facilities include both recreational vehicle camp sites and tent camping sites.

Lake Nacimiento County Park
Lake park managed by Monterey County that is located just south of Monterey County in northern San Luis Obispo County. Features a lake that is 18 miles long lake created by building the Nacimiento Dam over the the Nacimiento River.

Lake San Antonio County Park
Lake park located in southern Monterey County, near the county's border with San Luis Obispo County.

San Lorenzo County Park
Park situated along the Salinas River at the base of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Day-use facilities include picnic areas, a gazebo, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, softball areas, and a walking trail along the banks of the Salinas River. Camping facilities include both recreational vehicle sites and tent camping sites.
